• Inspect facilities and operations to identify and eliminate unsafe and unhealthful conditions
• Train management and employees on the nature of hazards and on
  effective practices and controls to eliminate or minimize the potentials for loss
• Investigate accidents and review and analyze loss data and loss summaries to identify additional methods for preventing losses
• Facilitate effective planning for emergencies and disasters
• Assist in compliance with standards adopted and enforced by federal, state, and local agencies, including the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Hawaii Occupational Safety and Health Division (HIOSH)
• Provide resources for implementing drug testing and employee assistance programs
